Yesterday I woke to the most beautiful sunrise, not the typical pink-blue sky but a wonderful glow. As I watched the sun rise over the garden, it lit up the bird feeder, only because the sparrows had emptied it the night before, making it transparent! I ran for the camera, and spent a few minutes crouching, bending, kneeling and squinting, trying to grab a decent frame, preferably with a bird in sight. On any other day (like today for instance) this viewpoint would be banal and without life, but the light transformed it into something else. I think that’s what photography, and art, is all about – capturing a moment.

what a beautiful moment! I agree – photography especially, is all about capturing that fleeting moment before it passes.
